Tenerife Ladies Match Play Heads For Golf Las Americas

Ladies golf at its best and a new format to make the challenge even harder, that’s the form for the Tenerife Ladies Match Play 2011. Golf Las Americas is proud to be staging this prestigious event which counts as part of the Ladies European Tour.
Clear your diary for 9 June to 12 June, it’s easy to get to as it’s in the heart of the southern tourist zone of Playa de Las Americas, although you wouldn’t think so from the secluded rural layout of the course. The competition takes over from the popular Tenerife Ladies Open, the British have taken the last 2 of those titles through Felicity Johnson in 2009 and Trish Johnson (no relation) last year. The new match play format will feature the 30 top ranked professionals and 2 guests and pit them against each other in 2 days of knock out golf before the top 8 go head to head on 12 June.

Before the serious action there’s a chance to warm up on 9 June with a pro am tournament, a good chance to get an early feel for the course. Tenerife Tourism are behind this years event, golf is major source of tourism for Tenerife and Golf Las Americas will be a great flagship for the sport on our island.
