New event at oldest Tenerife course

If you like history, head north to the Real Club de Golf de Tenerife, the oldest, built 1932,  on the island and one of the oldest in Spain. Don’t let that put you off, they have modern facillities but have retained character and tradition. The club is in Tacaronte, near the north airport and has a par 71.

Real Clud be TenerifeOver December 7, 8 and 9 they will be staging the Copa Penon, an open tournament for Canarians only, check to see if that includes ex pats with residencia. It will be played on a medal play individual scratch basis and inscriptions are open from December 1 to 6, until 5pm. If you want to play, got to the website and download an entry form.

It’s a grand old course and apart from the different climate, more lush and moist, it’s also worth playing as non members are normally restricted to weekdays from 9am until 1pm.
