Natural pleasures at Golf del Sur

Even the players at Turnbury for the British Open would have been jealous of the course and tremendous weather at Golf del Sur on Saturday 18 July. It was the fourth round of the 2009 Tenerife and La Gomera circuit, and a bumper entry of 182 players made sure that the standard of play was kept as high as ever.Golf del Sur is one of the most scenic of the 7 courses on the circuit, so it was fitting that Hotel Sentido San Blas Reserva Ambiental was the sponsor for the event.

The prizes all add to the competitive edge of the day, nearest the flag on the 9th hole went to Pedro Avila Alonso with .91 cms. Best senior player was Paul Sidney Fellows with 45 points, while best scratch player was scooped by Vicente Ruis Toledo with 37 points. Drives were strong and true, the longest on the 3rd hole went to Holger Midhage, and Georgina Day impressed to take the ladies award.
