It’s the biggest event for the golf travel industry and is about to celebrate it’s tenth anniversary, but don’t plan on popping in because the International Golf Travel Market 2007 is taking place in Cancun, Mexico. The Canary Islands and Tenerife in particular will be well represented though so there could be a steady influx of new golfers here soon from around the globe.

This massive promotion takes place from December 3 to 6 and features 100’s of exhibitors from 46 countries. Here are a few of the ones that should have a direct impact on Tenerife. Canarias, the Gobierno tourism department for all 7 islands, Golf Costa Adeje, Tenerife Golf, and Turismo de Tenerife, the Tenerife tourist board.

Yes I know what your thinking, don’t bring in too many golfers or we will never be able to book a game. Well, that’s just one view, but Tenerife is struggling at the moment, even the official government figures are finally showing that, and the golf courses on the island are all business’s, they must be feeling the pinch too. There are plans for other courses in Tenerife as well and more demand will help to make them a reality and boost the local economy and property prices.
