New month, new challenge at Golf Costa Adeje
July 30, 2009

It’s not just the weather that’s hotting up in Tenerife, the Tenerife and La Gomera golf circuit moves on to round 5 at Golf Costa Adeje on Saturday August 1st. Tenerife is on alert for extreme temperatures but this excellent 27 hole course, built in 1998, will look green and lush as ever, due to careful management, and liberal use of water from environmentally friendly re-usable sources.
It’s what you would expect from a course that has regenerated an area of old farmed out banana plantations. The course makes good use of the natural terraces and traditional stone walls, and sprinkles in a daunting selection of lakes and craters to test even the best golfers.
The views of the Adeje mountains, and the Atlantic, are impressive, a wonderful setting that has attracted many top tournaments such as the 2003 Spanish Open, and later this year will host the Tenerife Ladies Open, from September 24 to 27. But on Saturday, it will be a mixed field as the men and ladies go all out to set a scorching pace.
