All routes lead to Tenerife from 20 to 23 September as the best female golfers in the world converge on Golf Las Americas for the 2012 Spanish Ladies Open. It’s a vital stage on the Ladies European Tour and although these ladies will be focused on the top placings and a share of the 350,000 euro pot, the hot sunny weather and fabulous scenery will not be lost on these well traveled sports stars.

From Australia Nikki Garrett is a well established professional with previous experience of this course, Carlota Ciganda (pic) of Spain was the surprise packet in last years Tenerife Ladies Match Play, and Becky Brewerton from Wales was the pick of the Brits, winning at last years final hole. In total 24 nations will be represented in the Spanish Ladies Open, from as far away as South Africa (Stacy Bregman), Czech Rpublic (Klara Spilkova) and USA (Beth Allen).

The Pro Am curtain raiser is on 19 September before the serious action gets underway the next day. Everyone is welcome and each days play starts at 8.30 am.

The Hotel Jardin Tropical Golf Tournament showed it is as popular as ever with 148 players joining in the sporting pleasure on 2 June at Abama Golf. This year was the 18th annual event and in one of the most thrilling finishes the first first category winners were Santiago Garcia Campos and Juan Porcuna with 47 shots using the stableford pairs format.
As always there were three categories ensuring a competitive edge for players of all levels. The second group was won by Josefa Pujol and Cesar Fernandez de Caleya on 52 shots and in the third category Ana and Werner Schwebke emerged triumphant on 46 shots.

It could be quite a celebration as the Hotel Jardin Tropical hits the 18 year milestone for their annual golf tournament at Abama Golf on Saturday 2 June. Last years Sheraton La Caleta Tournament proved to be a welcome addition to the Tenerife golf scene so this year it’s back with another great day of top golf at Golf Costa Adeje on Santurday 19 May. The Gran Torneo de Golf 2012  will again feature three mens categories and one female group competing under the stableford individual format with prizes for the first three in each group. If your really on form you could even win a luxury Omega watch for sinking a hole in one.

Always an enjoyable day the Spring Hoteles golf tournament enters its fifth year  will be back at Golf Las Americas on Saturday 29 September. The format is as always stableford individual and everyone has a chance to shine with three male and two female categories. The event takes place on Saturday 16 th June at Golf Las Americas with a 8 am start and an expected 2 pm finish. The wait is nearly over for the 2012 Tenerife & La Gomera Golf Circuit, now entering its 6th year. This years competition starts on Saturday 9 June at Golf Las Americas and the format will be the usual stableford individual. Each year the circuit formed by the Association of Tenerife Golf Courses, widens its appeal to different nationalities and is always well supported by local businesses.

There are categories for male and female players with prizes provided for the presentation dinner and raffle that always follows each round. Last year 141 players competed at Golf Las Americas,and this year the course will also host the grand final on 29 September.
