Golfers raise a Teide sum for children

November 23, 2007

A good start will always set you on winning ways and the recently formed Teide Golf Society proved that in style as their first Annual Charity Golf Tournamment day, at Golf Costa Adeje,  raised 1.273 euros for an underprivileged childrens holiday project.

The big day was November 11 and a keenly contested day saw Alan Harding emerge triumphant by a narrow margin. Nearest the pin was an even closer call but after the slide rules and calculators were brought in, Stuart Smith took that honour.

It’s a full day out with the Teide Golf Society, and after the presentations they adjourned to the Atlantis Bistro in El Galeon, Adeje and thanks to a buffet laid on by hosts Dave and Sally, more fund raising boosted the charity takings to the eventual 1,272 euros.

The golfers and Atlantis Bistro regulars generously donated prizes for a raffle, and along with a quiz and bingo it helped to continue the evening compared by John Whitehouse. Anyone interested in joining the Teide Golf Society should ring Mark Dwyer on 667342794.
