Even the players at Turnbury for the British Open would have been jealous of the course and tremendous weather at Golf del Sur on Saturday 18 July. It was the fourth round of the 2009 Tenerife and La Gomera circuit, and a bumper entry of 182 players made sure that the standard of play was kept as high as ever.Golf del Sur is one of the most scenic of the 7 courses on the circuit, so it was fitting that Hotel Sentido San Blas Reserva Ambiental was the sponsor for the event.

The prizes all add to the competitive edge of the day, nearest the flag on the 9th hole went to Pedro Avila Alonso with .91 cms. Best senior player was Paul Sidney Fellows with 45 points, while best scratch player was scooped by Vicente Ruis Toledo with 37 points. Drives were strong and true, the longest on the 3rd hole went to Holger Midhage, and Georgina Day impressed to take the ladies award.

2nd. Susana Fernández de Caleya on 37 points

3rd. María Teresa Crawford on 35 points

Second category:

1st Mª Dolores Sebares on 39 points

2nd. Beatriz Oreja Montero on 37 points

3rd. Karin Beels on 36 points

The mens categories were also well contested

1st. Iñigo Almenara Lopez on 40 points

2nd. Johannes Zitzer on 39 points

3rd. Adolfo Hernández Rodriguez on 38 points

Second Category:

1st. Paul Sidney Fellows on 45 points

2nd. Jose Medina Expósito on 44 points

3rd. Angel González Rodríguez on 41 points

Third Category

1st. Luis Artacho Rodríguez on 45 points

2nd.Andrés Manuel Chocho Martín on 42 points
