2009 Circuit of Tenerife & La Gomera swings in

The Association of Golf Courses of Tenerife will be proudly launching the 2009 circuit on Saturday 30 May at Golf Las Americas, and it promises to be a special day of golf, very appropriately on the Canarian National Holiday.
This is the first of seven matches on this years tour, that includes the best of Tenerife and La Gomera. Competitors will play under Stableford individual handicaps, with 3 categories for the men and two for the women. Golf Las Americas is a popular and well appointed par 72 course, that should give all the players a testing work out.
The previous two years of the circuit have proved so succesful, that a queue of leading big names have signed up to sponsor the first challenge. They are Coca Cola, Golf 7, Heineken, Sorted Sites.com, Spring Hotels, Fonteide, Kalise, Golf plus, Webtenerife.com, wwwcanarias.com. Pago, Holiday Golf, Iberostar, Cadena Sur, San Blas Reserva Ambiental, C.A, Abama Hotel & Spa Resort, Caroli Health Club, Gran Sur, Agua Club Thermal, Hotel Jardin Tropical, Castilla Peralada, and Francachela.

Young star wins Aguamarina Hotel Competition

If they are good enough, they are old enough to compete with the best, and that was proved true on Saturday 16 May, when 16 year old Guillermo Moreno won the 11th annual Aguamarina Hotel Golf Competition at Golf Del Sur. In a Sableford individual event, with a shotgun start, there was a tough field of 117 players, but that proved an inspiration to Guillermo and the ladies winner, Dominguez Jerez.
The young players winning round included a stunning 320 metre hole in one at the 4th hole. This was on the way to a final total score of 38 points, Dominguez shone as well ending up with 37 points. After a great days golf, prizes were presented at the Aguamarina Hotel.
