Ashotel golfers on course for charity
July 16, 2008

When the golf course is as attractive and testing as Golf Las Americas players need little encouragement to take to the greens for a day of top competition. However Ashotel, the hotel and apartment association will have a special incentive on Saturday July 19 as they play to raise funds for AMISUR the Tenerife charity for the handicapped.
This will be the second year of the Ashotel tournament and the action will take place in the stableford individual category. Some 180 players will be gathering from Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro for this worthy cause. After a tough days play, the presentations will be made in the evening at the clubhouse, helped along with cocktails. Funds should be considerably boosted as all players are paying 60 euros to enter the competition, and there will be other fund raising events such as a raffle.
One of the main beneficiaries of the money will be the AMISUR occupational therapy centre in San Miguel, that does such sterling work to make life better for the handicapped of the south. Several high profile local companies have added their backing to the tournament, such as Gomasper, Disa and La Caixa bank.
